Ashtabula, OH, August 10, 2020 – Grand River Rubber & Plastics, a 100 percent employee-owned lathe-cut gasket and vacuum cleaner flat belt manufacturer in Ashtabula, Ohio, announces Robert “Bobby” Nelson as its Lathe Cut Production Manager.

Throughout his 27 years at Grand River Rubber & Plastics, Mr. Nelson has touched nearly every department at the company. Mr. Nelson spent his first 20 years at Grand River Rubber & Plastics in Drum & Pail and Lathe Cut Gasket production. After 2 decades on the plant floor, Mr. Nelson transitioned to the Sales Department, where he has worked for the last 6 years.

“Bobby has been an asset to Grand River Rubber & Plastics, continually driving innovation and efficiency across every department he has worked in during his 27 years at Grand River Rubber & Plastics. His extensive knowledge of lathe-cut production, combined with his 6 years of sales experience gives him a unique skill set to drive production, quality, and value for our customers,” says Donald Chaplin, President, and CEO of Grand River Rubber & Plastics.

In his new role, Mr. Nelson will oversee the lathe cut department and work alongside COO Keith Wyatt to optimize plant efficiency and grow the company’s lathe cut gasket footprint both domestically and internationally.
