Grand River Rubber & Plastics celebrated United Way Day yesterday, December 12, 2019. The United Way of Ashtabula County event mobilizes the caring power of volunteers to make a meaningful impact in Ashtabula County. The United Way of Ashtabula County is a nonprofit organization that serves as a responsible steward of donated resources to impact the critical needs of our community in the areas of health, education and financial stability.
Yesterday, Grand River Rubber and Plastics held meetings across all 3 shifts in support of the United Way of Ashtabula County’s 100 Years. One Purpose Campaign to raise awareness for the charity and encourage employees to contribute to this amazing cause. Grand River offered prize incentives for those who donated. This year, we had 149 employees who generously supported United Way of Ashtabula County.
At Grand River Rubber, we are proud to be the second-largest giving employer in Ashtabula County. We strive to support our community because we understand when we support community members in need, we all succeed. In July of 2019, Grand River Rubber & Plastics was recognized by United Way of Ashtabula County with the Most Consistent Giving by Employees Award.
This is a testament to those who work here and our leaders who believe in giving back to the community. The United Way Day is an event that we have participated in for 35 years. Our December 2018 employee campaign raised more than $33,000 for the United Way of Ashtabula County that went toward healthy living, impact education, and financial stability programs in Ashtabula County. This year, during Grand River’s December 2019 United Way Day of Action Campaign, employees pledged $33,764!
